From March 1, 2021, new energy labels requirements enter into force for product categories, such as fridges and freezers, dishwashers, and washing machines distributed in Europe. These labels should be compulsorily registered and made available in the EPREL database (European Product Database for Energy Labeling) accessible via the QRcode positioned on such labels, to provide consumers with additional information on the energy class and technical product data.
WHAT IS EPREL AND HOW IT WORKS
EPREL (European Product Database for Energy Labeling) is an electronic product database managed by the European Commission. The database provides information with the energy performance data of all those products subject to the energy labeling regulation. The database ensures transparency on efficiency standards within the member countries of the European Union and facilitate manufacturing companies to register products according to the European regulation 2017/2018 Article 4.
