TESISQUARE participates in the Monitoring on EDI 2019

This year again TESISQUARE, an Euritmo certified provider, has been involved in the “Monitoring of the use of EDI in consumer goods in Italy(Italian only). The research has been carried out for five years by GS1 Italy in collaboration with the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano.

The analysis confirms the positive trend of EDI, with an increasingly digital and automated management of the “order-to-pay” cycle by the consumer goods companies active in the Italian scenario.
The data for 2018 report an increase of 23% of the companies that used EDI compared to the previous year and a growth of 27% in the volume of documents exchanged: 16 thousand companies with 210 million digital documents.
The research also shows how the mandatory electronic invoicing can represent a further booster for EDI: already in 2018 the number of invoices exchanged via EDI increased (55 million exchanges in 2018 equal to 26% of the total documents, + 10% compared to the previous year), since many companies (in particular suppliers of the Public Administration) have optionally started to send electronic invoices to client companies.
In 2018 the adoption of GS1 EDI standards were also positive. 8,139 companies have exchanged at least one message via EDI according to GS1 standards (over half of the total number of “active” companies in EDI in Italy).
